Great campsite which served as a very good base for exploring the Lake District. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially with suggesting easier and closer routes when the weather inevitably turned bad. We stayed here over the new year.
It’s about a 25 minute walk into Keswick down a lovely scenic path however this does take a little bit longer coming back up the hill (and after a few beverages).
It is worth noting that groups are not allowed and vehicles are not allowed in after 22:30. Dog-friendly, good day room with underfloor heating, laundry room and a dry room (dry room wasn’t the best, there was no form of heating at all and the enclosures were only big enough for a small garment). Toilet and shower facilities were really modern and clean.
Thank you to the gents that looked after us and we hope to see you again soon.
+ Lovely vibe to site,
+ Friendly staff,
+ Fantastic views.
+ Toilets and Showers were well laid out and had fellow campers kept them as they found them, they would have been lovely and clean.
+ Lovely clean, well laid out campers room (we didn’t need it), with Kettle, microwave and toasters ( understandably with a small charge).
+ Lovely clean dishwashing area, laundry room and drying room.
+ Very close to Keswick, with walks from site.
+. Take away available most evenings.
- Touring caravan pitches with electric small, and too close together.
- Whilst hard standing was relatively level, the drop to the grass where awning is pitched is very sloping.
Our family were next door in their caravan and we all slipped several times, I have still got a very swollen ankle due to this.
- Liked the idea of the quiet rule, but this didn’t seem to extend to the owners of barking dogs.
- Dog owners letting their dogs toilet on your pitch, despite there being a dog walking area. We have had several pets including dogs in the past, and love animals, and it is absolutely possible to have an understanding of your dogs toilet habits. I wouldn’t let my children or grandchildren encroach on other campers pitches or spaces, not sure why it’s acceptable for dog owners to think it is.
Overall a great site, possibly more suited to short stays, rather than a two week holiday in a touring caravan.
This is our second visit to this site, and we absolutely love it. The scenery is dramatic with walks into Keswick or popular Fell walks from the campsite. Staff are lovely and accommodating, and the site facilities are perfect, especially …
Lovely peaceful site with breathtaking views. Good size pitch, clean showers and toilet block. Nice little dog field. Only negative is that it's not fully serviced, but it wouldn't stop us from returning again.
Due to ill health it’s been a while since we visited Castlerigg Farm but what a great time we had, the views are spectacular, the staff are helpful and friendly and the facilities are modern and clean. Over the years we have stayed at …
Nice, well specified and well maintained campsite with 360 degree views of the Lakeland fells. If you don't want to drive into Keswick then there is a footpath taking around 30 minutes. Be aware that its up hill for the return journey!
Amazing views from the site and of the jets on most day’s. Clean facilities that don’t close mid way through the day 👍🏻 well stocked shop and staff friendly and helpful. Bit of a walk up the hill from town but bus available. Drying room not brilliant but better than soggy stuff in the van so useful.
We initially was supposed to spend one night in this camp site but ended up staying for another two because we enjoyed it so much! It is a 5 minute drive to Keswick town and has pretty good facilities, showers were free which we appreciated and it was lovely and peaceful with breath taking views all around. The staff were lovely and helped us with everything we needed.
